Project “Dialogue for Tourism”

El legado andalusí Andalusian Public Foundation is the lead partner of Dialogue for Tourism, a project of the Interreg Euro-Med Programme.
Over 7 years’ duration, this project aims to establish a dialogue between the project partner institutions and associated partners to smooth sustainable tourism policies in the Mediterranean at local, regional and national levels and between different Programmes and Strategies at European and Mediterranean levels. At the same time, it will consolidate some tools created in the frame of Best Med project (Interreg Med), recently finalized, that was also lead by El legado andalusí.
The aim is to work towards a smarter and greener Mediterranean, to fight the impact of global changes on Mediterranean resources and to ensure sustainable growth in the future.
The Dialogue for Tourism partnership is made up of eight countries:
1.– Andalusian Public Foundation El legado andalusí – LP.
2.- National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro.
3.- Institute of Circular Economy and Climate Change (Greece).
4.- Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region (France).
5.- Lazio Region (Italy).
6.- Institute of Agriculture and Tourism (Croatia).
7.- Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicación (Chipre).
8.- Municipality of Varna (Bulgaria).
9. The Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME)
10. Greening the Islands GTI (Italy)
In addition, the project relies on 25 partners from the Mediterranean basin, including the European Institute of Cultural Routes (Council of Europe), the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Andalusian Regional Government and the Lebanese-American University of Beirut, to name but a few.
As for the main actions designed, the project plans to expand the member regions and countries of the Network of National and Regional Sustainable Tourism Observatories in the Mediterranean as a tool to support expert planning, shared decision-making and a substantial improvement of the dialogue on sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean.
En este sentido, El legado andalusí también contempla entre sus acciones la participación en los cursos on line de la Academia del Programa Interreg Euro-Med, la realización de talleres de refuerzo de capacidades en esta temática, paneles de debate y grupos de trabajo a nivel regional y diversas acciones de comunicación y difusión con la contribución de Andalucía en este campo como eje central.
